The cat, by law, must travel within a suitable carrier that makes the journey safe for both the cat and the people on board the car. It is therefore essential for the kitten’s safety.
It is important to make the journey as less traumatic and stressful as possible, so try to make the carrier comfortable by placing a pillow and a nice blanket inside; in this way the kitten will feel safer and will better face the journey by car.

Arrival in the new home

Preparing the house for the kitten is essential: the spaces dedicated to the cat must be organized. Small steps will help protect you from possible accidents.

Let us remember that the kitty feels a bit out of place on arrival in the new house, this is because leaving the cattery has lost its reference points (mother, brothers, people and known environment), it is therefore useful to organize its arrival for the end week so you have more time to dedicate to him.

The adaptation of the kitten in the new house is a very delicate phase and must take place gradually and calmly.

Your kitten is in an unfamiliar environment, so anything or action could upset him in an already very delicate phase. Therefore avoid:

  • shouts and altered tones of voice (generated by too much emphasis and euphoria)
  • to pass it from hand to hand as if it were an inanimate object, devoid of life.

Let them have the time to settle in, trying to recreate a peaceful environment, in this way they will become a quiet cat, confident, sweet and above all a great life partner!

Cat hygiene

The ragdoll is not particularly demanding, just get a metal comb with double-sided teeth (narrow / wide) and comb it twice a week.

First comb with the side with wide teeth, towards the hair and then against the hair, so as to gently remove the dust, the dead hair and possibly some small knots. It then moves on with the narrow-toothed comb.
In the moulting period (spring / summer) this operation must be repeated several times a day; after all, those who decide to adopt a ragdoll must be willing to carve out a few minutes every day to look after them.

THE BATHROOM: The cat is very clean but sometimes, especially in summer, it is preferable to bathe him. It is therefore important to accustom it to water from an early age, without traumatizing it and if it reacts with hostility, do not insist.
The water temperature should be approximately 36 ° – 37 ° degrees and it is important to use a specific shampoo for cats, otherwise there is a risk of skin irritation.

ORAL HYGIENE: The milk teeth grow between the second and sixth week of life, the definitive ones starting from the fourth month. Tartar tends to deposit on the teeth over time, using dry, hard and crunchy eating tends to eliminate tartar by friction.

CLEANING THE EARS: The basic rule is to touch them as little as possible. Never use ear plugs or water or alcohol based cleaners, your vet will recommend an appropriate detergent.

DIGESTIVE HYGIENE: In many cases hair balls are formed in the cat’s stomach, this due to the ingestion of the hair during cleaning; unfortunately cats are unable to expel from the mouth the accumulation of dead hairs due to the hundreds of beards facing inwards, which covers their tongue.
Usually ingesting the hair does not involve problems but in case of accumulation in the stomach there is the risk of formation of hairballs; the first signs of this pathology are constipation, cough and breathlessness, especially after a meal, lacking interest in food.
The best thing to do to prevent this problem is to brush it regularly so as to remove the dead hair from the fur, making the ingestion of hair much less likely.
Ragdoll loves to be brushed so this will be an excellent opportunity to create an emotional bond with your kitten and relax while you brush it, more care, it must be lent during moulting periods (in spring), repeating the operation more frequently.
In the market there are different products to prevent these disorders, such as the Remover paste to be given to your cat 2 times a week and specific dry food to expel the dead hair through the feces.

The vet

Breeding, as far as possible, advises keeping the vet safe; if this is not possible you are advised to choose a professional who has the following characteristics:

  • is quite close or easily accessible
  • is really interested in animals, especially cats
  • is accurate in reminding patients of the calls for vaccines or other controls
  • is available for emergency services
  • is able to provide adequate nutritional advice.

VACCINATIONS: It is fundamental

protect the cat through the vaccine from major diseases such as: coryza, panleucopenia or typhoid, feline leukemia, viruses and rabies.
The ideal age to start a vaccination program is between 6 – 8 weeks, because until then maternal antibodies neutralize the vaccination antigens.

The first vaccination protects the kitten against various infectious, respiratory and viral forms (HERPES-VIRUS, CALICI-VIRUS) PANLEUCOPENIA or ENTERITE VIRAL VIRAL LEUKEMIA (FELV).
The second vaccination should be done between 12 and 16 weeks and is a reminder against respiratory viral forms, PANLEUCOPENIA and FELV.

When the cat reaches 15 months of age a further reminder should be performed against RINOTRACHEITE, PANLEUCOPENIA and FELV.

The vaccine must be renewed every year.

The Bonbon’s kitty breeding operates by selecting healthy, sweet and conforming cats. He prefers quality rather than quantity.
The pet kitten, those that have defects of mantle, are given to people who seek the love and the sweetness that only this cat can give and advises in these cases the sterilization of the cat to preserve it from different pathologies. A “not for breeder” pedigree is issued to the pet puppy.

The main phase of the kitten’s education takes place from birth up to the age of 6 months. Most of the behavioral knowledge is acquired at the age of 3 months, thanks to the “dominant” role of the mother and siblings; this is why a BluQueen puppy will leave the farm after 3 months of life, in order to allow the kitten to stay for as long as necessary with its mother.

The kitten will leave the breeding accompanied by PEDIGREE, the document that attests the pure breed of the puppy and guarantees the respect of ALL THE CHARACTERISTICS OF BREED. WE DO NOT PROVIDE PUPPIES WITHOUT PEDIGREE.
In addition, health booklet with double trivalent vaccination, double veterinary visit
The kitten is transferred by contract.

DEFY FROM ALL THE BREEDERS THAT SELL THE RAGDOLL KITTENS AT A VERY LOW COST, MEANS THAT THEY BREED IN BATTERY, THROWING KITTENS TO SELL TO THE BEST OFFERER. It is essential to guarantee the health of each puppy and above all a correct psycho-physical development and a price that is too low often means the opposite!

Breeding, according to the principle of breeding, means first of all RESPECT OUR RAGDOLLS, devote time to them and give them much LOVE, making even a few nights in white to assist females during birth or babies in the first days of life .

A kitten that grows correctly, in a healthy environment where it has received love and cuddles and all the necessary health care, will be a splendid cat, with a balanced and sweet character, a sign of all the love it has received since the day of birth.

Avoid any sudden change in diet, there would be a risk of causing digestive disorders, it is a good idea to always ask for the advice of the breeder who has raised the puppy, taking care of a correct diet, our ragdolls are fed with first-class croquettes .
If you wish to change your diet, make sure that the transition from the old to the new food takes place gradually and over a period of time not less than a week. This method helps to minimize the risk of dysentery and harmful intestinal disorders for the correct development of the kitten.

NEVER GRANT TASTING OF HOMEMADE FOOD WHILE LIVING OR DINING, it would acquire the bad habit of begging or stealing table food.
